This works for almost any of your fave thicker sauces . I like to use my mean green sauce, but of course I'm not posting THAT recipe on a public blog. You get the idea though.
For the purpose of this I will say to go with your favorite jar of sketti sauce.
Dump sauce in crockpot.
If you have a mind to tinker with it do so now.
A drizzle of honey, a pinch of cinnamon and dash of garlic salt never hurt.
Add some nice strips of bellpepper and onion. If you are very lazy you can buy them already cut up at the store.
Now dump in some chicken. 1- 1 1/2 lbs.
Make sure the chicken is about covered by the sauce, especially if you are using only white meat pieces.
Set on low and go away for the day.
Serve over noodles or instant rice.
This blog is for you Megan. Here are some easy recipes to feed you. We can't have you getting any tinier or you will dissappear like Mike T.V. in Willy Wonka. They are good for you, quick to toss in the pot, and mostly high in fiber (you know why). The recipes are dried bean and grain heavy as I use my crockpot not because it's easy, but because it is CHEAP! Anyone who wants to add they're own recipe message me and I'll pass it along! Or you can add it in a comment. I don't care.

Chicken and Broccoli w/ Rice
Into the good ole C-pot dump:
1 can cream of broccoli soup
1 can of milk
1 can of water
generous sprinkling of black pepper
then,
1 cup rice
1 small package of frozen broccoli
*you can also use brown rice or my new fave barley more delicious, nutritious, and cheaper, but will take a little extra liquid*
1 lb of chicken parts
Set on low and go away for 4 hrs.
You can of course leave it for longer, but then it is smart to grease the pot or you will spend the rest of your life trying to scrape the over browned layer of rice off of the bottom of the pot.
Enjoy.

10 Bean Soup
10 Bean Soup
Buy a bag of 10 Bean Soup Mix. You can find them in the aisle with all the dried beans. It IS a bag of dried beans. Throw it in your pot with 2 more of those chicken boullion cubes. Toss in a couple of carrots. Whole again if you're still lazy. Throw in a couple of smoked turkey necks or wings. These are super cheap and tons of flavor. Oh, did I tell you to add water? Ok, do that now. Turn the pot on low and go away. Come back later. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cut up those carrots with the butter knife again. Enjoy.
Lentil Soup
You can also make lentil soup almost the same way. Buy a bag of lentils instead. No turkey necks. Add a diced onion, some diced celery and a couple smashed garlic cloves with the lentils and chicken boullion. Add the water and go away again. Season with salt and pepper and serve with a squeeze of lemon. (If you can snag some fresh sage or thyme you can also toss a whole sprig in the pot with the water while it cooks. Adds lovely flavor.)
Enjoy your farts and fiber.

Pea Soup For Dummies
*Buy one lb. bag of dried split peas. Get 2 if you really like pea soup.
*Dump in your crockpot with 2 chicken boullion cubes per bag.
*Add water. A lot.
*Enough so that peas come only 1/2 way up in the water.
*Now dump in one roughly chopped small onion or 1/2 a big one and a couple smush whacked cloves of garlic (that's when you give em' a smash with the side of your big knife.
*Add some carrots. However many you like. If you are very lazy dump them in whole.
*Oh add a bay leaf or or two
Turn crockpot on low.
Go away for a long time. Like all day.
It will probably look weird when you come back. Stir it and it will start to look more like you are used to. If it is too thick you can add a little more water. Fish out the carrots now if you were too lazy to cut them before. Use tongs so you do not burn yourself. Now you can cut them up with your butter knife.
Add salt and pepper to taste (a little garlic salt even if you like). If you like ham you can chop some up and put it in now.
Time to eat. I like to eat mine with croutons and tabasco sauce. Goes well with beer. Yum.
*note if you are not Megan and you DO eat ham I recommend substituting the boullion cubes for a few ham hocks or neck bones. Will change your life!!
